Podemos has placed a canvas this Friday on Calle Goya in Madrid, in the heart of the Salamanca district, with the words spoken in February 2022 by the former president of the Popular Party Pablo Casado about the brother of the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, about the contract that he obtained from the Community of Madrid in the worst moments of the pandemic.

The text. The content of the canvas is a tweet with the PP account that reads as follows: "The question is whether it is understandable that on April 1 (2020), when 700 people died in Spain, you can contract with your sister and receive 286,000 euros of profit for selling masks", a phrase that they extract from Casado's statements on the Cope chain in February of last year.

It is accompanied by a large photo of Tomás Díaz Ayuso with the phrase 'You have to throw them out!'. The image of the canvas has been tweeted this morning by the former leader of Podemos, Pablo Iglesias, with the phrase "They send us this that has appeared on Goya street in Madrid."

The context. Casado raised that question in an interview on the Cope network on February 18, 2022, in the middle of the war with Ayuso after she denounced an alleged spying on her by Genoa and the PP opened an information file for the president by the contract to which Casado alluded, who ended up resigning a week later.

The European Fraud Prosecutor's Office closed the case on the alleged embezzlement of European funds in the mask supply contract in which Tomás Díaz Ayuso, brother of the Madrid president, participated.

However, the electoral campaign of Podemos in Madrid is keeping this case very much in mind: in the electoral debate last Monday on Telemadrid, the regional candidate of Podemos-IU-AV, Alejandra Jacinto, wore a blouse with photos of Ayuso's brother in the one that could be read the same sentence of Casado.

And the next day the Minister of Social Rights and Secretary General of Podemos, Ione Belarra, appeared in Congress with a T-shirt with an almost identical design.

The reaction. Pablo Iglesias has tweeted this Friday an image of the canvas with a message of supposed surprise: "They send us this that has appeared on Goya street in Madrid." Among many reactions to the publication, that of Borja Sémper, campaign spokesman for the PP, stands out, appealing to moderation and not everything goes: "Indicating a citizen in this way, in addition to being indecent, is dangerous. The government party publicly pointing out businessmen, judges, citizens...

Some will find this funny today, but the board always tends to balance. It is necessary to recompose the policy".

Other posters. The current banner, which occupies the entire façade of a building under construction, has been located in the same place as another one, also from Podemos, until yesterday, with the running image of his time as an athlete of his candidate for Mayor of Madrid, Roberto Sotomayor, in which it was read: "The Cayetanos of this neighborhood have had a mayor with exclusive dedication these four years. On May 28 that will change running."

Regarding the controversies that these billboards have generated, Sotomayor said this morning, in an act on Madrid's culture and music, that "nothing is said that is not true" on them. "In fact, the budget allocated to the Salamanca district this last year has been incredible. Regarding the Puente de Vallecas district, with the difficulties that the Vallecas bridge also has", he pointed out.

"You have to govern for everyone, for all Madrid residents. In the district of Salamanca there is no open municipal library and it is one of the places where the most pollution occurs in all of Madrid after Plaza Elíptica. For Therefore, you have to govern for everyone, but my commitment is especially with the neighborhoods abandoned by the Madrid City Council," he continued.
