This is how the districts of Barcelona voted

The Junts candidate, Xavier Trias, described the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district as the “zero kilometer” of his victory for mayor of Barcelona. Well, the convergent politician fulfilled his forecasts and easily prevailed in this district with 40% of the votes, far from the second most voted force, the PP (14.92%). In this way, Trias recovers this stronghold in the upper area of Barcelona after the platform led by Manuel Valls with the support of Ciutadans reached first position in the past elections.

Junts also prevailed in two other districts that Republican Ernest Maragall conquered four years ago, one of the biggest losers in these elections where he failed to be the force with the most votes in any of the ten districts of the city.

Trias took over one of the key territories to have real options to win the mayoralty of Barcelona. This is the Eixample, the district with the largest population and has been one of the main battlefields of this campaign with the green axes at the center of the debate. In the central district of the city, the Junts candidate obtained around 28% of the vote and was closely followed by the BComú candidate, Ada Colau, with 22%. In Gràcia and Les Corts Trias also won, where Convergència i Unió traditionally won.

The maximum equality of the distribution of the vote became visible in other territories of the Catalan capital in a fight side by side between socialists and commoners. The PSC managed to maintain Nou Barris and confirmed its promotion in these elections by seizing three districts from BComú where the commons were imposed four years ago: Horta-Guinardó, Sant Andreu and Sant Martí.

If in the last elections, the party led by Colau won in six districts, this time the formation only managed to maintain two: Ciutat Vella and Sants.
