The Mataró plenary session approves a motion to monitor the lack of responses from the government

The PP spokesperson, Cristian Escribano, has celebrated the approval of the proposed resolution presented in the April Plenary Session, which will improve the control of the motions approved in the Plenary Session. Escribano criticized that the Government repeatedly fails to comply with the agreements adopted by the Plenary, many of which have the affirmative votes of the groups that make up the Government. This inconsistency has been exposed by the councilor, who accuses Mayor Bote of “wanting to look good by voting in favor, despite knowing that later he will not do anything to comply with what was agreed.”

In a press release, the PP specifies that the motions presented by the municipal groups in the plenary session have a function of supervising the acts of government, which pursue the adoption of an administrative act that will be born, if the majority required for its approval is obtained. approval. Along the same lines, he points out that "there are legal reports that guarantee that the motions approved in municipal plenary sessions are mandatory."

According to the Regulation of Organization, Functioning and Legal Regime of Local Entities, when referring to mayors, it determines that one of their obligations is to "publish, execute and enforce the agreements of the city council", so the agreements of the sessions Plenary sessions become agreements at the same time that they are produced by the representative majority held by those who approve them.

The approved agreements are: 1. Incorporate in the City Council's Transparency Portal a section on the motions approved by the Plenary that incorporates a telematic record of the status and degree of execution. 2. Establish that the maximum period for incorporating the approved motions on this website is one month from their approval. 3. That the effects of these agreements be applicable to the motions approved since the beginning of this legislature and are incorporated into the Transparency portal within a maximum period of three months.

The proposal was approved unanimously by all the political forces of the City Council. The supervision of proposals and motions will be incorporated into the City Council's Transparency Portal with a telematic record of the status and degree of execution of the motions approved in the municipal plenary session.
