The elegant wedding of Iman de Jordan

Yesterday, the Jordanian royal family experienced one of the most important events of the year. Princess Iman, second daughter of Kings Abdallah and Rania, became the first of the four siblings to go down the aisle. The 26-year-old was marrying her fiance, the Venezuelan businessman of Greek descent Dimitrios Alexandros Thermiotis Hernández, who now goes by the name Jameel Alexander Thermiotis after converting to Islam.

King Abdullah's palace, located in Amman's exclusive Dabuq district, was decked out to host the ceremony, which took place at 6pm (Jordan time). The wedding, which was celebrated according to the Muslim rite in a bright hall decorated with white flowers, was broadcast live on Jordanian television.

The last to arrive was the groom, who greeted his in-laws affectionately. Shortly after, Princess Iman entered the scene accompanied by her older brother, Hussein bin al-Abdallah, the Crown Prince of Jordan. The young woman was beaming in a classic long-sleeved design, with transparencies at the neckline. She wore her hair in a low bun, a long veil and a beautiful tiara.

Before the ceremony took place, the bride, who was accompanied by her three brothers, Hussein, Haixem and Salma, melted into a tender embrace with her mother, Queen Rania, who she chose for the occasion a precious elegant dress in nude tone. It was precisely the mother of the bride who communicated the news about the imminent engagement just a week ago.

The Hashemite queen sat in the front row next to her future daughter-in-law, the young Saudi Rajwa al-Saif, fiancee of Crown Prince Hussein, who will be the star of the next royal wedding; and their young children, Princess Salma and Prince Haixem. For his part, the king occupied a place in the main space, right in front of the imam who officiated the wedding and next to the sofa where the bride and groom were.

More than 150 guests attended, including members of the Jordanian royal family, the groom's parents and prominent figures in Jordanian society and politics.
