Rafa Madueño, one of the founders of the PSC, dies at 75

The trade unionist and politician Rafa Madueño, one of the founders of the PSC, died this May Day at the age of 75, as reported by the mayor of Tiana, Isaac Salvatierra, and the president of the Catalan socialists, Miquel Iceta.

Madueño, born in Andalusia, moved to Badalona in 1959 and in 1978 he was one of the founders of the PSC. In fact, Madueño was a deputy for the socialists in the Parliament of Catalonia in three terms, between 1986 and 1995. The politician, who worked in the banking sector, was also secretary of Trade Union Action of the UGT in Catalonia. In addition, he stood out for his defense of the Environment.

The mayor of Tiana, Isaac Salvatierra, recalled that this resident of the municipality was a "defender of the environment when it did not appear on the agendas", and "founder of the PSC in '78 and an opponent in '155". "He was a coherent and leading activist," he said in a message on the social network X.
