Participation at 6:00 p.m. drops 6.48 points in the elections in Catalonia

44.53% of the Catalans called to the polls in the municipal elections this Sunday have voted until 6:00 p.m., 6.48 points less than in the previous elections of 2019 at the same time, according to data offered by the Ministry of Inside.

By provinces, Barcelona registered a participation of 44.17%, 6.36 points less, while the Girona demarcation produced the greatest decrease: 44.15% of voters went to the polls, 8.69 points less.

In Lleida province 47.29% have voted, 5.94 points less, and in Tarragona 45.99% have done so, 5.62 points less.

In Barcelona capital, 48.66% of the voters have voted, 3.32 points less, and in Girona city 40.58% have gone to the polls, 10.18 points less.

In the city of Tarragona, 41.87% have participated, 7 points less, and in Lleida participation has also dropped: 40.8% of the census has voted, 5.74 points less.

Participation in Catalonia is below that registered in Spain as a whole, and which is 51.47%, 1.54 points more than in 2019.

There are only four autonomous communities in which, for now, participation has decreased: Catalonia, the Autonomous City of Melilla (-7.76 points), the Basque Country (-4.08 points) and Castilla y León (-0.08 points).
