Nogueras, convinced that the independence movement will preside over the Barcelona Provincial Council

The head of the Junts per Catalunya list in Congress, Míriam Nogueras, has been convinced that the independence movement will preside over the Barcelona Provincial Council because there is an alternative to the PSC that adds more votes than the socialists with the commons, while at the same time it has opted for open a new cycle of understanding with ERC so that wherever they can add they govern together, despite the fact that in recent municipal pacts the PSC has been the one that has reached the most town halls with pacts with these two parties.

In an interview on the Cafè d'Idees program on La 2, Nogueras also assured that "he is not aware" that the PSC is negotiating the Barcelona Provincial Council with the commons and with two independents attached to JxCat - the mayor of Igualada, Marc Castells , and his counterpart from Torrelles de Foix and leader of Impulsem Penedès, Sergi Vallès- as this newspaper reported yesterday. But he has indicated that he is not "surprised" that the Socialists "try to make 'tamayazos'", alluding to the two deputies of the PSOE in the Madrid Assembly -Eduardo Tamayo and María Teresa Sáez- who in 2003 prevented the election of the Socialist Rafael Simancas as president of the Community of Madrid, a case of turncoat that ended up facilitating the presidency of Esperanza Aguirre of the PP.

"The independentistas will preside over the Provincial Council, of course, the numbers say so," said the head of the Junts for Barcelona list, according to which "this embrace between these two parties -Junts and ERC- is absolutely necessary." "The proPSOE mental framework that exists with the Diba is incomprehensible, the Diba is not owned by anyone nor is it owned by the PSOE," Nogueras denounced, who has justified his conviction that the sum of PSC and common deputies (22) it is below Junts and ERC (23). "It seems that there are people who do not want to do numbers, an alternative exists so that the presidency falls to the independentistas," stressed Nogueras, who ignores the fate of the four votes that the PP has in the supra-municipal entity.

Before speaking about the Diputación, Nogueras had summoned "all" the two pro-independence parties to make "self-criticism" and "a reflection" because, as he has recognized, "we have not done things well" and "we have not liked each other". In this sense, he has indicated that after the municipal elections of 28-M "something has begun to be woven" between the pro-independence parties in Congress and has assured that if after the elections of July 23 without determinants (it has not been clear if he was referring Junts or the whole of the independence movement) "nothing will ever be the same again".

However, the independence leader has not ignored the usual criticism of Esquerra. "There were some who did not choose to defend Catalonia. We have felt alone defending Catalonia this legislature," lamented Nogueras, who has avoided clarifying whether his formation would support a new investiture by Pedro Sánchez so that Vox and PP would not govern: "We will not give away not a single vote," he warned. "The ball is in Mr. Sánchez's court, he knows perfectly well what we want", said the one who has been the spokesperson for the post-convergents in the Lower House, alluding to self-determination and amnesty, but also to the fiscal deficit and the low level of budget execution suffered by Catalonia. The vote will be paid "in advance", warned Nogueras who has advanced that "we will not allow them to fool us".
