Les Corts accelerate the suppression of the Inheritance Tax to protect its effect from 28-M

PP and Vox, the groups that support the government, have brought forward to this Wednesday the final approval of the bill to eliminate the Inheritance and Donation Tax in the Valencian Community. A decision that has been made to shield the retroactive effect of the measure to the day of the elections that the president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, promised.

The processing of this bill has not been without problems, so PP and Vox have wanted to avoid more headaches and ensure that anyone who has lost their relatives since the day of the regional elections (28-M) can benefit without problems and stop paying what the PP has classified as the “death tax.”

Sources from the PP explain to La Vanguardia that there is a legal limit of 6 months to settle this tax, so the deadline to approve the regulations and which could have retroactive effects to the promised date ended on November 28 (six months after the election day).

However, the plenary session where the approval of the 99% bonus of this tax was planned was going to be held on November 29 and 30, already outside the established deadline. Furthermore, the rule would later be published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana, so it would not be approved until one or two days later.

Given this circumstance and to ensure that the beneficiaries of an inheritance on May 28 and later would not have to pay this tax, it has been decided to advance the approval of the regulatory change to this Wednesday, altering the agenda of the plenary session. In this way they ensure that all possible beneficiaries will be covered from the day the PP won the elections.
