Submit materialA Norwegian ship has been hijacked by pirates, and nine people have been kidnapped.
It happened Saturday morning. The ship had thrown the anchor at the Cotounou in the west african country of Benin, when the pirates hijacked the ship.
It writes to several Norwegian media, including VG and Today's business community that boasts.
It is a ship owned by the Norwegian shipping company J. J. Ugland, has been hijacked. It writes the shipping company itself on their website.
For Today's business community that boasts tells the communication director of the Norwegian Rederiforbund, Christine Korme, to the nine kidnapped besætningsfolk are filipinos.
According to the J. J. Ugland were the nine kidnapped members of the crew taken out of the ship, called 'Bonita', is 189 metres long.
The remaining crew informed the local authorities. The company itself has a kriseteam handling the situation and have contact with the authorities.
