In autumn 2021, a resident of Gallur (Zaragoza province) had the scare of his life when three men posing as civil guards attacked him and tried to force him into the trunk of his own car. The events took place around seven in the afternoon on September 8, 2021. That day, the victim was driving a Dacia Sandero when, upon reaching a level crossing in Gallur, three men who identified themselves as Benemérita agents stopped him.
From the beginning, the driver suspected the alleged agents, misgivings that were confirmed when the false civil guards tried to force him into the trunk of his car. The man refused to obey them and offered resistance. Although he ended up injured, he managed to get away and call for help.
Seeing that their plan had failed, the criminals fled at full speed in the victim's vehicle along the A-68 highway that connects that town with Zaragoza for 50 kilometers. As reported by the Heraldo de Aragón newspaper, the Civil Guard and the National Police mobilized several patrols to catch up with the fugitives, who far exceeded the speed limits on the highway and even turned off the vehicle's lights to try to mislead the police. his pursuers.
Upon arriving in the Aragonese capital, the fugitives jumped several red lights in the area near the venue that hosted the 2008 International Exposition. At one point, the now accused got out of the car with the intention of escaping on foot, but ran into a bystander, at which point he fell to the ground and was arrested. His two companions had better luck, and so far they have managed to evade Justice.
The detainee now sits on the bench accused of up to five crimes: robbery with violence and intimidation, resistance, reckless driving, usurpation of functions and injuries.
