The Selectivity that was established with the covid is maintained

The University Access Tests (PAU) are a requirement to enter the university for those students who have a Baccalaureate degree or equivalent. In addition, to take the degrees of Early Childhood Education or Primary Education it is necessary to pass the Personal Aptitude Test (PAP). This course, in Catalonia, the ordinary call for the Selectividad will take place on June 7, 8 and 9. In September, the exams will be on the 5th, 6th and 7th.

This year, the structure of the tests will not undergo changes, so the exams will follow the same model as the 2021-2022 academic year in all subjects. The agendas and contents of the subjects are also maintained, which means that the increase in options when choosing the exercises continues. This change was established in the Selectivity of the 2019-2020 academic year due to the covid-19 pandemic.

Another particularity that remains refers to the History exam of the general phase. As in the last three tests, you will have to do two exercises to choose freely among four, which allows you to examine only half of the syllabus. The PAU consist of a general test and a specific one. The general phase consists of five exercises that all students who have completed the Baccalaureate must perform on a mandatory basis. In this phase, the four subjects of the second year of Baccalaureate are examined: Catalan Language and Literature, Spanish Language and Literature, Foreign Language and History, and one of the four optional common subjects: Mathematics, Mathematics applied to Social Sciences, Latin or Fundamentals of Art.

The specific phase is used to raise the grade. The score, instead of being out of 10, becomes out of 14. In this second test, the student can take a maximum of three exercises, which correspond to subjects in the second year of Baccalaureate linked to the university studies they wish to take. Of these three exercises, only the two in which you have obtained the best grades, once weighted, will be taken into account. The grade obtained in the general phase is valid indefinitely, while the qualifications for the subjects in the specific phase are used to gain access to the university in the year in which they are passed and during the following two academic years. The note obtained by the students who take the tests this year will be valid until the 2025-2026 academic year.
