The Government approves the advertising plan that guarantees access to information for people with disabilities

The Council of Ministers approved this Tuesday the 2024 Institutional Advertising and Communication Plan, which for the first time will guarantee access to information for people with disabilities.

As reported by the Executive, as of January 1 of this year, the accessibility measures of institutional campaigns will comply with the provisions of the new wording of article 5 of the Advertising Law, guaranteeing access to information for people with disabilities. Specifically, they will have subtitling, interpretation in sign language and audio description.

The plan foresees an investment of 138.29 million euros to carry out a total of 162 institutional campaigns with which to “disseminate relevant information to all citizens.” Likewise, the plan that will be published on the Moncloa website includes the planning planned by the General Administration of the State, detailing the destination and distribution of the campaigns according to departments and objectives for the current year, as well as their content and allocation.

Although commercial campaigns are not within the scope of application of Law 29/2005 under which the annual plan is carried out, given their interest and as has been happening in recent editions, the main data are collected again.
