Nearly 200 high school students become journalists for a day

The Faculty of Communication and International Relations of Blanquerna has welcomed almost 200 students to participate in the workshop "A day at the University". The event, promoted by the university itself and Junior Report, was aimed at 4th year ESO and Baccalaureate students interested in the world of journalism, communication and marketing.

Miriam Díez, vice dean of Research and International Relations, started the day and welcomed eight centers of the RED network; Pia Granollers School, Roca Study Center, Euclides Institute, Pia Santa Anna School, GEM School, FEDAC Horta, Pia Nostra Senyora School and Pineda College.

The students have been grouped according to their interests and have had the opportunity to participate in various workshops such as Introduction to Marketing, Creativity Workshop, Elevator Pitch, Radio Program, Making a TV Program from the Set, Crisis Management and Communication Tools. digital communication. Through these activities, they have been able to explore different facets of careers related to communication, from participating in professional talks to testing themselves in various practical simulations. Díez commented that the objective of the day was for the students to get involved, be with a professional and be able to see what the impact of what they could do would be.

Students have experienced first-hand what it would be like to write news, record podcasts, and even be news reporters. Jana Güell, a student at the FEDAC Horta school, explained that "we have all been able to learn what an Elevator Pitch is and how we could use it in the world of work."

Marc Mallolís, head of admissions and marketing at the Faculty of Communication, has positively valued the day and that the students have been able to get an idea of ​​what the profession is about. "A day at the university" has been a resounding success and has given students the opportunity to explore the world of communication, while at the same time providing them with a clear vision of the careers offered by the Blanquerna University.
