Ayuso denounces the Government before the Supreme Court for "sieging" Madrid with the Tajo Hydrographic Plan

The Government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso has denounced the Tajo Hydrographic Plan before the Supreme Court, which aims to "siege" the Community of Madrid and make it "give up due to thirst", by putting the water supply of Madrid's residents "at risk". This is what Díaz Ayuso has advanced in an informative meeting organized by the Círculo de Navarra, in which he has harshly attacked the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, whom he has blamed for using water "as a political weapon" against Madrid to "siege to the capital" because "it does not bow to their abuses.

"For Ayuso, the Tajo Hydrological Plan "represents a new attack by Sánchez against Madrid, the meanest and most inhumane of all" those who have suffered. "They want to leave us without trains, without short-distance planes, without museums and without institutions . "They want to discriminate against us with financing but there is nothing worse than trying to ration water to almost seven million people," he declared. Now Sánchez wants Madrid to surrender due to thirst. He has come to appropriate the natural resources of all Spaniards and has approved a royal decree that puts the water supply of Madrid residents at risk," he denounced.

According to Ayuso, Sánchez "cannot bear that Madrid has said no to its authoritarianism", nor "condemns every abuse" and, therefore, carries out "another attack" against the region with the Tagus Hydrographic Plan, which came into force in 2023. "The most petty and inhuman," he criticized.

Along these lines, he pointed out that the new Plan "radically changes the rules and boycotts Madrid's water supply system, which is the largest in Spain and one of the best in the world." "It puts obstacles in the way of the transfers necessary for the water to reach the homes of Madrid residents, it prevents us from meeting the purification requirements and it hinders our planning," said the Madrid president, adding that the Government has rejected all the allegations presented by Canal de Isabel II.

"When you think that Sánchez gives his worst, he always surprises us with a new one. (...) But there is nothing worse than trying to ration water," said Ayuso, while warning Sánchez: "We are not We're going to perform."
