National Police agents have arrested a woman for abandoning her four-year-old daughter in the middle of the night at a home in Ciudad Lineal (Madrid) to go to work at a nightlife establishment.
The events occurred early Thursday morning when the agents, alerted by the neighbors, approached the detainee's home. As reported by the National Police, the girl's inconsolable crying was heard for more than an hour.
The police moved to the place quickly and called the house from which the crying came, without receiving an answer at first. Subsequently, they managed to communicate with the minor from the room of the adjoining home, and after identifying themselves as police officers, the minor agreed to open the door.
Once inside, the agents verified that the little girl was alone in a room that presented unsanitary conditions. The girl told them that she was hungry. After placing the minor under protection, various steps were taken until finding out that her mother worked in a nightlife venue.
When located, the woman acknowledged that it was not the first time she had left her 4-year-old daughter alone during her workday. For these facts, she proceeded to her arrest as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of abandonment of a minor.
