A man arrested for assaulting his partner to whom he gave a shovel with which he would be buried

The Civil Guard of Valencia has arrested a man in a town in the La Safor region for allegedly assaulting and threatening to kill his sentimental partner if he did not return to his country with him and their three children. He came to give her a shovel with which he said he was going to bury her, as reported by the Armed Institute in a statement.

The victim, a woman of Czech origin, had been in Spain for a few months, since she had established her residence in a Valencian town to flee from the attacks she had suffered in her country of origin by the detainee, with whom she has three children together.

Since his arrival in the country, there have been numerous telephone threats issued by the detainee, who even managed to locate the woman at her new home. He appeared there and assaulted her. The man came to leave her a shovel as a threat and told her that as long as she did not return to her country with her children, she would be killed and buried with said tool.

A few days later these threats were repeated and the man sent his partner to his phone a photograph of an image of the victim pierced with a machete, also repeating the warning that he was going to return to Spain.

At the beginning of July, the detainee kept his word to return and once he arrived in the country he contacted the woman, letting her know his intentions, so she sought refuge at another address. At the time of receiving the notice, members of the Civil Guard established an extensive search device for the author, after which he was located and detained by the agents in the vicinity of the home where the woman was hiding.

The woman had never reported any of the events that occurred. The detainee is a 41-year-old man of Albanian origin who is accused of mistreatment in the family (gender violence). The judicial authority has decreed his admission to prison.

The action has been carried out by agents of the Civil Guard belonging to the Company of Gandía. The proceedings have been delivered to the Court of Violence against Women number 1 of Gandía.
