“To the parrot, we are not so bad!”: a restaurant opens with a Joan Laporta museum in Mataró

It has been said many times about Joan Laporta that he is a lover of good food. He is a regular at large Barcelona houses such as Via Veneto, Botafumeiro or Bodega Sepúlveda and, precisely a few months ago, he revealed to the media that he was following a diet to compensate for his excesses.

Now, the relationship of the president of the Football Club Barcelona (FCB) with gastronomy will be much closer, because they have recently opened a restaurant with a museum about him in the Mataró Park shopping center, in the province of Barcelona.

This is one of the stores of the Berto's Milanesa chain, specialized in this preparation of Lombard cuisine that consists of a breaded beef fillet. In these restaurants, you can choose between the classic Milanese and other more creative ones, such as the Neapolitan, with tomato, mozzarella and sweet ham, or the Mallorquina, with sobrasada and honey.

The walls of the establishment are full of photographs where Laporta appears with some of Barça's best signings during his time as president, such as Lewandowski, Guardiola and Ronaldinho. Although in this museum there is also space for players who were very expensive for the club, such as Keirrison da Souza, for whom they paid 14 million euros and who did not even wear the Blaugrana shirt.

Life-size images of Laporta, newspaper covers explaining his victories and failures, or famous phrases from the president such as “Screw it, we're not so bad!” or “M'estic posant como un bacó” complete the decoration of this space that has generated a lot of content on social networks.

Gerardo Choez, manager of the premises, explained to Chiringuito de Jugones that even "there are those who come to see the museum and don't stay to eat." He also said that the most popular table is the one next to the photographs of Laporta with Messi.

This is just one of the many tributes that Berto's Milanesa has made to “their most lively idols.” The chain had already opened several establishments with museums focused on figures such as Maradona, Julio Iglesias and Belén Esteban. They even have one focused on the king emeritus.
