Poppy, who in her early years faced the sad reality of abandonment, has become a real star on social networks. "Her former owner abandoned her after always keeping her in a cage," her current family told The Dodo, underlining the drastic change that Poppy's life has undergone.
Now much more free to move and happy, this adorable creature is walking proof of the positive impact a loving home can have on an animal. "As we couldn't return her to the wild because she was domesticated, we adopted her," explained her owners.
Poppy's new life is full of special moments, recorded and shared by her family on TikTok, where her cheerful personality shines. In a viral video, Poppy appears reacting every time her owner calls her by her name: she stops running, stands on her two legs and makes a noise similar to a 'whoa' full of happiness.
"I would say that Poppy is quite obsessed with me," her owner acknowledged, making clear the deep connection they have developed. According to her testimony, this small mammal climbs onto her neck and starts hitting it to get her attention, an activity that has also been shared numerous times on TikTok.
In addition to being a huge media star, Poppy enjoys the everyday pleasures of life at home. She delights in her favorite snacks, such as pumpkins, and shows a great passion for cuddles and naps. But she's also a pretty destructive animal: she throws things, eats plants, and steals her owners' clothes.
