The RAC105 gala rewards The Tyets twice

Sardana and electronica, pop and reggaeton, in short, The Tyets emerged last year as protagonists of the RAC105 awards gala. The Maresme duo won the awards for best artist and best song for Coti x Coti in an event that also gave awards to artists such as Stay Homas, Oques Grasses, Rosalía or Els Amics de les Arts.

The Paral·lel 62 room was last night the setting for the welcoming awards ceremony, which in its third edition brought together more than 700 people, including many artists and the main representatives of the sector in Catalonia, in a event piloted by Ernest Codina and Mònica Usart that started with the performance of Stay Homas interpreting La noria. It was the first of the performances, the other protagonists of a night in which Buhos passed through the stage, Nil Moliner, who performed solo with the guitar, Gertrudis, Edu Esteve, Miki Núñez, Vicco, Triquell and Joan Dausà, who played Judit, continuation of the story started in Jo mai mai ten years ago, a career that was remembered with a video of the best moments of the artist from Sant Feliu de Llobregat.

The gala also found time to remember the dissolution of the Manels with a humorous piece by Albert Bermúdez, and had as a colophon The Tyets who performed Coti x Coti to the tune of a generally calm audience. Although the surprise guest of the night was Josmar, who appeared (in pants) claiming an award for his music amid the shouts of the audience, rewarded with a performance of the legendary És superfort, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year .

Between songs came the awards, with Electricitat, by Alfred García and Miki Núñez, as the best collaboration, which Alfred dedicated to his mother for her birthday. The prize for best video clip went to Els Amics de les Arts with that story of a love difficult to forget called Citant Mercè Rodoreda, the subject of the new album Allà on volia. "Long live RAC105 and long live music in Catalan on the radio," they shouted upon receiving the trophy.

Then the Stay Homas returned to the stage to collect the award for the most played song on RAC105 for Here2Play, a joyful mixture of Spanish, English and Catalan that played up to 1,476 times on the music chain.

Oques Grasses, deserved winners of the prize for the best live show in a year in which the band from Osona celebrates a decade on stage with a tour that concluded by filling the Palau Sant Jordi (the tickets had sold out seven months before the date), a a milestone within the reach of very few, especially among the formations that have Catalan as their own language. This is the case of Triquell, son of the euphoric factory who last night was awarded as best new artist, a prize he collected accompanied by his project colleagues, because "behind this character there is a group of people". Sant Jordi still looms large for him, but the Barcelona artist has demonstrated his talent with the publication of Entre fluidis, his first album, with a taste for mixing and blending themes such as Jugular or CBD and espadrilles, theme which he later interpreted.

For quality, for novelty and for the echo worldwide, no one was surprised that the award for best album went to Rosalía's Motomami, the experimental album mix of pop and reggaeton that has confirmed the singer from Sant Esteve Sesrovires (the only one that did not attend to collect the award) at the Olympus of music with songs such as Despécha, La fama or Motomami herself, which has already become a generational anthem.

There were two prizes left, those for best artist and best song, both for The Tyets, or what is the same, Oriol de Ramon and Xavier Coca, who have revolutionized the Catalan music scene with pieces like Coti x Coti, chosen best song , a song that has broken the mold by combining reggaeton and sardana, a reflection of this new generation that last night came out the winner, as a whole, of this night of Catalan music.
