Barack Obama and his wife Michelle improvised a visit to Montserrat this morning with filmmaker Steven Spielberg and his wife. It has been the former president of the United States himself who has taken the initiative and, shortly after, Bruce Springsteen's friends who yesterday enjoyed his concert to kick off their European tour have appeared with their notable security entourage at the iconic mountain and its emblematic monastery.
The guests climbed the Cambril de la Mare de Déu, greeted Abbot Manel Gasch and Prior Bernat Juliol, after which they took the funicular to reach the top of the peak, in Sant Joan.
Obama has also signed the Book of Honor.
