No one will be surprised that the dishes most ordered at home are pizzas, hamburgers, sushi and Chinese food. Now, among the people who choose to order home-cooked lunch or dinner, there are also many who opt for traditional preparations such as Russian salad or potato omelette, according to the Just Eat platform.
The Gastrometro 2023 report indicates that the five dishes of Spanish gastronomy most ordered at home are Russian salad, potato omelette, calamari, croquettes and Galician raxo (a pork loin recipe).
There are also other dishes that are trending and gaining followers, such as cachopo, scallopines with cabrales or salmorejo.
Beyond traditional recipes, the dishes that are trending this year are Japanese crests, salmon poke, quesadillas and chicken yakisoba.
These are the prepared meals that are currently most fashionable, but what is increasing the most on Just Eat are orders for basic consumer products, such as milk, bananas, bread, chocolate and beer.
All this, in a context in which the food delivery business continues to rise. People spend more and more money because they don't want to cook or clean. According to this study, the business has grown by 20% in the last year and now reaches a value of 6.8 billion euros.
Weekends are when there are more shipments, followed by holidays. The report also points out that almost 40% of the orders that users make are to socialize with friends or family. In fact, 13% of those surveyed say they already have it as a weekly ritual.
