The boss of a restaurant fines waiters who lose the keys to the premises 300 euros

Finding optimal working conditions in the world of hospitality and catering has become a challenge. It is no coincidence that there is a lack of waiters: low salaries, few days of rest and intense working hours proliferate in our country, causing unions to increasingly denounce these situations.

Unfortunately, not all hoteliers are involved in the cause and unfair situations continue to occur, where the owners impose intolerable conditions. This has been demonstrated once again by the X account @soycamarero by sharing a conversation with a hotelier on WhatsApp.

The tweet. “Chorizos,” says the Soycamarero account in a tweet along with an image of the WhatsApp conversation that has generated outrage on networks. In it, the boss intends to fine his employees for losing the keys to the premises he runs.

The conversation. The screenshot shows that the owner of the bar has told his workers something unexpected: they will have to pay a penalty of 300 euros from the pot from the next time a set of keys disappears.

"As you can see, here we only put interest in things when it costs you money..." begins the manager, who throws a dart at his workers. He goes on to point out that he has attached different keychains to the restaurant keys "so no one gets smart if they get lost."

Top comments. The hotelier, who "is forced to do things the hard way", has generated a debate in X: "No employee should have the responsibility of opening and closing the business, let the boss be responsible and then there would be no problems" says one user, while another points out: "When you tip you think it is for the waiter, it seems that it is a fund for blackmail and punishment."
