The structural architect Agustí Obiol Sánchez died this Monday at the age of 70, as announced by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, where he had been a professor of structures since 1975. Born in Vinaròs, in the Valencian Community, in 1953, Obiol received his doctorate from the UPC in 1977. In Barcelona he combined teaching with private professional activity and worked alongside architects such as Jean Nouvell, with whom he collaborated on the Tower project. Glòries.

Obiol has also been involved in notable projects in the Catalan capital such as the remodeling of the Palau Nacional, the Ciutat de la Justícia or the Arenes shopping complex.
