Grandma's trick to avoid having to chop garlic every time you cook

Peeling garlic and chopping it is one of the essential steps in many recipes. This versatile condiment brings its unmistakable flavor to a wide variety of dishes and sauces, so wouldn't it be better to always have it on hand? The brothers from ÑAM!, with almost 3 million followers on TikTok (@losdenam) have shared a very useful grandmother's trick, which will help you chop the garlic in one go so that you have it ready whenever you need it. Thanks to this important kitchen tip, you will save time, effort and money and you only need two glass jars and a food processor.

The first step is, as it could not be otherwise, peel the garlic. The recommended amount to have minced garlic for three months is 15 heads, as explained by these brothers in a video that has already accumulated 60,000 likes. To peel them easily and quickly, just cut off both ends of the heads and put them in a glass jar three at a time. Make sure you choose a container large enough to give the garlic space to move around. Next, cover the jar and shake it vigorously up and down until the peels come off. That easy!

Once the garlic cloves are separated, pour them into a food processor. You can also use a mixer or blender if not available. In any case, leave them well ground. Meanwhile, you should also sterilize the glass jars that you are going to use to store the garlic. To do this, immerse the containers and lids in boiling water with the help of tongs and let them dry upside down without using cloths or napkins.

When the jars are well drained, with a spoon begin to pack the already chopped garlic. Leave about an inch from the top of the jar uncovered. Then, pour a cup of olive oil with which you will macerate the garlic and, finally, close the jars. To ensure that they are well sealed, you can put the closed jars in a water bath, that is, put them to boil in a pot of water until it reaches its boiling point. Next, let the water temper and store the jars in your pantry. This way, you can keep the minced garlic for long periods of time without fear of it spoiling and take out the amount you are going to use when you need it.
