Food alert due to the presence of undeclared celery in the baby food of this well-known brand

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (Aesan) has warned people with allergies to celery of its undeclared presence on the labeling of several batch jars of garden vegetables with chicken and rice from the well-known Hero brand.

The data of the products involved are 'Only vegetables' from the garden with chicken and 100% Eco rice in a 190 gram glass jar. The affected lot number is 'L 138889SSF', although only units that include the following coding on the cover are affected: 'L 138889SSF: 001-1'; 'L 138889SSF: 002-1', and 'L 138889SSF: 003-1'. All with an expiration date of September 6, 2025.

"As a precautionary measure, people allergic to celery who may have the aforementioned product in their homes are recommended to refrain from consuming it," explains this organization, dependent on the Ministry of Consumer Affairs.

The alert has been given through the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange (SCIRI) sent by the health authorities of the Community of Madrid.

Furthermore, the agency points out that the information arises from the self-control of the company itself, "which has communicated the incident to the competent authorities, in compliance with the legislation and in order not to make unsafe food available to the population."

Despite the warning, Aesan reminds that this product does not pose any risk to the rest of the population and that the health alert should only be taken into consideration by people allergic to celery.
