Even if you see it on TikTok, the red wax in Babybel cheese is not cooked (ever)

Every week, social networks viralize new tips or advice that can be toxic for users. Despite multiple attempts to raise awareness, videos whose content should be ignored continue to proliferate, as is the case of the latest video that uses Mini Babybel cheeses.

This snack, especially for children, has gone viral this week thanks to a recipe in which its author, neither shy nor lazy, decides to use both cheese and its popular red wax.

The legendary cheeses have this colorful wax wrapper to preserve the freshness of the product, so it should not be cooked under any circumstances. In the video, the 'chef' melts the Mini Babybel and places it in a tortilla, including wax.

As expected, the video has begun to accumulate views, reaching a million, and already has countless comments from netizens: "It's wax, it's proteins" or "This is one of those that eats the paper of the cupcake" are several of the most popular messages.

In addition to the users who joke with this recipe in a creative way, there are also those who think that it is not real, and that it must be a fake. What is real is that the Mini Babybel coating helps protect and preserve your cheese, being a wax of vegetable origin.

The company itself assures that red wax is the only packaging that this snack has in the entire distribution chain, so the idea is not to ingest it. Still, this wax could disappear very soon: "We are exploring ways to eliminate the packaging completely (while preserving quality, of course)," says the company itself.
