In this recipe we teach you how to prepare a coca de recapte, a traditional snack of Catalan gastronomy. For this, we have chosen horse mackerel, a little-known oily fish with low commercial value. It is a perfect option to add omega-3 to the diet, a fat with many health benefits that oily fish contains in large quantities.
The Fundació Alícia has developed this recipe with the aim of preserving Catalan gastronomic culture by linking the Catalan primary sector. Alícia's multidisciplinary team is working on several projects within the framework of the development of the Strategic Food Plan of Catalonia (PEAC), one of them dedicated to the promotion of little-known and valued Catalan agri-food products with the aim of encouraging their consumption. On this occasion, the aim is to revalue lesser-known fish species.
