8 signs that your dog loves you

Dogs are popularly known as man's best friend. This nickname is not by chance, but they really are our inseparable companions, who arouse our affection and who we love madly. This love, as a general rule, is bidirectional. If you pamper your dog, take proper care of him, play with him, and show him affection, they will feel the same way about you.

However, it is clear that dogs cannot tell you that they love you with words. But they do show it with certain gestures and behaviors with which they are expressing their adoration for you. They are also a sign that there is a strong and close bond between you.

When the dog falls asleep it is completely defenseless. If he falls asleep near you and even lies on his back, he is showing that he fully trusts you, since he does not protect or hide his vital organs.

If you allow him to sleep with you and he does, it's another gesture that he loves you and likes to spend time snuggling with you.

Tail wagging is a mode of dog communication that can mean many different things. But the most common is joy. So if he wags his tail rhythmically when you come home or when you talk to him and cuddle him, you'll know he likes your presence.

When your dog demands your attention and it doesn't have to do with the need to eat or go for a walk, but wants you to hold it, scratch it or play with it, it's clear that it loves you and enjoys spending time with you.

Does your dog mistrust strangers on the street, but let you caress, hug and kiss him? He loves you deeply. If he doesn't back off or complain when you're cuddling him, you'll know for sure that he adores you.

Dogs have a very acute instinct to detect when their reference human is not well. If you are sick, sad or stressed and he comes to your side to comfort or protect you, it is a way in which he shows his love for you.

Dog licks are the equivalent of human kisses. When he licks you, he is giving you back all the love that you give him. In fact, it's good for your bond. So if you don't like him kissing your face, it's at least a good idea to let him lick your hands, even if you wash them afterwards.

It is probably the most curious manifestation of affection in dogs. If he looks deep into your eyes, holds your gaze and doesn't turn away when you stare at him, he is comfortable with you and he loves you.

Your dog will surely follow you wherever you go. While you clean, when you cook, and even when you're in the bathroom. No, it's not that he doesn't respect your privacy, it's that he loves being with you.
