Who is Eladio Carrión, the swimmer and comedian who has triumphed in the world of reggaetón

The Antena 3 program El Hormiguero premiered the week yesterday with the visit of Ilia Topuria, who has become a national and international star after achieving victory in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). During the program, the athlete remembered with Pablo Motos his confrontation against Alexander Volkanovski and confessed that he loves the song that Omar Montes dedicated to him.

Today, March 27th, the space in which Trancas y Barrancas lives receives a global star that is appearing in the music lists of different platforms: the singer Eladio Carrión.

The artist, who has more than 7 million followers on Instagram and more than 21 million listeners on Spotify, visits the Atresmedia program to present his new album, Sol María, to the Spanish public, which is dedicated to his mother.

After a lot of work and sacrifice, Carrión has managed to establish himself in the music industry and record hits such as Coco Chanel, Thunder y Lightning, El Malo or Hey Lil Mama and has achieved different distinctions and recognitions such as a Latin Grammy Award.

Although he is now giving concerts all over the world and rubs shoulders with the greatest of the music scene, Eladio Carrión has not had a common beginning in the world of song, since the Puerto Rican had other professions before becoming a singer.

The one born in the United States became well known on social networks due to his comic scenes and the fact that he recorded parodies imitating the voices of artists such as Ñejo, Arcángel or Cosculluela. Later he began to explore the topic of composition and entered the professional artistic world in 2015. His first success came in 2017 with the single Me enamoré de una yal, a collaboration that he launched with Ñengo Flow and Ele A el Dominio .

Although many believe that Carrión's fame is more or less recent, the truth is that the 29-year-old had a successful career as a professional swimmer that led him to represent Puerto Rico in the Central American and Caribbean Games and the Pan American Games.

Eladio even qualified for the Olympics, but as he revealed some time ago in an interview with Ibai Llanos, he got tired of that world: ''Being a swimmer it is difficult to earn income if you are not Michael Phelps or something like that (. ..) It was pretty good and I broke it for a little while, until I got bored."
