Ryan Gosling began acting professionally at the early age of twelve, when he landed a role on Disney Channel's Mickey Mouse Club, alongside stars such as Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. After several years struggling to be taken seriously as an actor, he starred in 'The Believer' (2001), where he played the son of a Jewish family who became a neo-Nazi.
A year later, he starred with Sandra Bullock in Murder… 1-2-3, which led to a love affair with the actress. However, the rise to fame came from El diario de Noa, one of the most popular love movies of all time. This project again involved a relationship with his co-star, the iconic actress Rachel McAdams, with whom he dated for almost four years in which her looks stood out for being scruffy.
Regarding his physique, Gosling gained 27 kilos to obtain a role in The lovely bones (2009); to his surprise, the director fired him a day before filming for having gained excessive weight, so the role of Jack Salmon, the protagonist's father, was assigned to Mark Wahlberg.

The actor has mentioned on several occasions the trauma caused by the divorce of his parents when he was little, for which reason, together with his older sister, he was raised exclusively by his mother. This experience caused him to be programmed to "think like a girl. I'm drawn to movies that have strong female characters because there are strong female characters in my life." Therefore, it is not surprising that he has launched himself to participate in Barbie, one of the strongest female projects on the billboard this year.
