This is Daniel Sancho's life in prison: practice

In Thailand, the last week of the trial against Daniel Sancho begins and the most important because it includes his statement that had to be postponed due to the heat wave and a breakdown that left the Koh Samui Court without air conditioning. Sancho has had more days to prepare his defense and has received a visit in prison from his father, Rodolfo Sancho, who will also testify as a witness.

RAC1 has been able to speak with relatives of the prisoners who share space in the penitentiary center with the Spanish chef. Right now he is the most popular inmate, everyone wants to talk to him and they claim that he has a good relationship with the rest of the prisoners. This would be one of the reasons why, if he is finally convicted of murder, Sancho's defense will try to have him serve his sentence in Samui and not be transferred to Bangkok, in the high security prison.

The possibility of a death penalty sentence is receding and everything points to reckless homicide. That would allow Sancho to serve his sentence in Samui prison, where he has adapted well, officials and relatives of prisoners explain to RAC1. Porntipa Chantaraporn talks about privileges.

"All foreigners have privileges in prison. For example, if a foreign prisoner does something bad, they are not punished like a Thai prisoner. They are only warned, since many times they do not even know the rules. The officials treat them better, if If they are sick, they are immediately taken to the hospital, and the Thais are treated in prison," he says.

Sancho practices Muay Thai, Thai boxing, he also helps in the kitchen and many days he sleeps in the infirmary. "I think the situation of the prisoners in Samui is not bad, that the relatives are calm. And if you have money, you have no problems." According to several sources, in Thailand everything is solved with money, including in prisons.
