Last Monday, a man was arrested in Miranda de Ebro (Burgos) accused of beating and chaining a woman in her home, and who later appeared at the Santiago Apóstol Hospital with injuries to his face and his hands completely tied. Shortly after, the alleged aggressor was released by the Guard Investigative Court of the municipality of Burgos.

Carmen, the woman who suffered the attack, broke her silence this Thursday on television. Specifically, she in Y Ahora Sonsoles, Sonsoles Ónega's afternoon program on Antena 3, where she recounted the ordeal she experienced. On screen, viewers have been able to see that her eyes are black, but also wounds on her neck due to the rope that the man tied to her.

The victim had gone to the hospital to visit her partner, and on the way out she met the man, whom she knew because she had had a romantic relationship with a person in her family. He invited him to get into her car, and that's when the problems began. "He took me to get methadone and I told him I had to go to the hospital, and he took me up," she says.

Afterwards, the man took him home due to an alleged forgetfulness. "He offered me a coffee, I didn't want it, and he told me: 'Go upstairs because there are some of your cousin's clothes,' which is the one he was with and left due to mistreatment," he said about the relationship between him and the aggressor. . "Upstairs in the room, he went up and hit me the first time, he threw me to the ground, he put the rope on me and said that I had to be for him, that he had been after me for 20 years," he continued.

At that moment, Carmen begged the man not to harm her family, especially her partner Dolores. "I asked for help several times, he told me not to scream, he called me a 'bitch' and a 'whore'," she said. The aggressor wanted to have sexual relations with her, and the woman decided to try to take him to her land to escape from her.

Thanks to a screwdriver, Carmen was able to escape from the house and flee from her attacker. "As best I could, I took everything off, except the chain, which I couldn't. It was difficult for me to take off the rope, but I took it off. I opened a window and went out, and I saw him and another short person coming out," he said about one more person than would be in the house during the attack.
