The reason why Mónica López has not presented 'Now or never' this Friday

This Friday, Spanish Television has made a sudden change in the presentation of one of its daily programs. Mónica López, the well-known meteorologist from La 1 who is currently in charge of the magazine Now or Never, had to be suddenly replaced by Marc Santandreu due to the absence of the communicator in the facilities of the public entity.

The co-host of Mañaneros, who precedes him on the grid, stood in front of the cameras of this other program from the beginning after 2 p.m. And López has not been able to appear on screen on her last broadcast day of the week for a compelling reason: the presenter has been one of those affected by the breakdown of the high-speed train line between Valencia and Madrid.

It was the journalist herself who was in charge of recounting her odyssey through social networks. "We've been here for 7 and a half hours; they are evacuating us with a 30-seater bus," she reported in the middle of the afternoon on her X profile (Twitter). The train in which they were traveling, from the Ouigo company, had left Valencia at 7:30 in the morning and they had to remain inside "without light, or food, the bathrooms damaged and the doors closed for 3 hours", he assures.

"They handed out bottles of water 1 hour ago. No food. At least they took the diabetics and children first," he continued, adding that the children had to leave "accompanied by only one person." Finally, Mónica has communicated the alternative put in place by the company: "Two buses to make the trip from here to Cuenca, which is 40 minutes. They go, unload and come back."

Related to this same incident, the official profile of La 1 de TVE on the same social network informed its followers of the change of presenter on Now or Never this Friday. The account has joked that this event took place on Friday the 13th, a date that is considered bad luck in Anglo-Saxon culture.

"Our Mónica López owes one to Marc Santandreu, who has been leaving Mañaneros to present Now or Never. Will it have anything to do with Friday the 13th?" they asked, laughing in the publication.
