The hard childhood of María Jiménez: "As a child I learned to live with the blows of an alcoholic mother"

The singer, dancer and actress María Jiménez died this Thursday at the age of 73, and this Saturday La Sexta wanted to pay tribute to her with the program 'María Jiménez: my world is another.' In this first chapter, the Sevillian opened channel and told things he had never revealed before.

María Jiménez reviewed her childhood, and recounted some very complicated episodes at home. "Since I was a child, I learned to live with the blows of an alcoholic mother who put me through the worst things. I have never talked about my situation until now," she explained.

The artist defined her mother as "tremendous" and confessed that "she was a bug." Jiménez said that she "was very bad, but she was my mother. A mother would have to be a good mother, but she was a stepmother [...] Everything I can tell is little."

Despite having a childhood marked by beatings, María Jiménez clearly identified the reason for her mother's abuse: "My father was a very womanizer, so it is known that he hated me because my father adored me. He would hate me because she would see reflected in me the women my father had".

The Sevillian artist had a life marked by abuse. In this first tribute chapter, she also recalled that she was a victim of sexist violence and I do not hesitate to point out her partner, the actor Pepe Sancho, with whom she married up to three times, and with whom she had a son.

Jiménez accused her ex-husband of physically and psychologically abusing her: "Pepe Sancho was the biggest mistake of my life." "I thought that was love, but I was the one in love," she added.
