The family of Adrián, the Spaniard in an induced coma in Cancún, fears that he will be kicked out of the hospital: “We are desperate”

Adrián Fernández and Sofía Parada headed to Cancún with their 7-year-old son to enjoy a honeymoon after walking down the aisle. A getaway that, far from being idyllic as they thought it was going to be, has turned into quite an “ordeal.” The woman has used her social networks to explain in a letter what she wanted to title as “Between life and death in Cancún.”

“The Spanish embassy is aware of everything, but they tell us that they cannot do anything beyond providing information,” he expressed on his Instagram account. Likewise, she put on the table the 8,000 euros a day that it would cost her to pay for her husband's hospitalization. A figure that has increased considerably, as her family has revealed.

“Firstly, we had mentioned the issue of 8,000 euros a day, but this is not real either, in two days we have spent 36,000 euros. It has been much more. The more tests they do... The stay there also adds up. It is desperation, we cannot reach this amount,” said Marta Parada, Adrián's sister-in-law.

With this, he has once again asked for help to be able to cover the costs, announcing the opening of a crowdfunding that, at the moment, has collected more than 10,000 euros. “It doesn't matter whether you go to a private or public hospital, they are all paid,” he added, making it clear that they cannot go through public healthcare as they are foreigners.

But if there is something that they have wanted to put on the table, it is the fear they have that Adrián Fernández will end up being kicked out of the hospital. “They told us that if we couldn't cover the expenses they would have to change hospitals. “We are desperate for that,” he stated.

And the fact is that, due to the state of his lungs, it is “impossible” for him to be transferred without suffering further damage, so you cannot repatriate him either: “That option is completely ruled out.” “He is in critical condition, he is stable, but his condition is very critical,” he assured.

Among other things, he has made it clear that both the wife and son of the affected person have had to move to the cheapest hostel in order to be able to allocate all the money they save on Adrián's care. And they have to make payments on a daily basis, without the possibility of financing. Something that is causing them even more problems.

And with so much information that is emerging, Sofía Parada, the wife, also uses her social networks to deny some news. A few hours ago, she made it clear that Adrián Fernández is not improving and that the exact extent of his injuries is not yet known.
