The big night of Carl Gustav of Sweden: the Nordic royals celebrate the golden jubilee of the Swedish king

After 50 years of reign, King Carl XVI Gustaf has achieved what no other monarch in the history of Sweden has achieved: celebrating his Golden Jubilee on the throne. Therefore, on September 15, Stockholm became the scene of a great celebration, with a jubilee dinner that took place in the imposing Royal Palace. It was not just a dinner, but a meeting of monarchs, heirs and high representatives, all gathered to commemorate a milestone in the history of the Swedish monarchy.

The dinner took place in the imposing Rikssalen of the Royal Palace in Stockholm, as the culmination of a day full of festivities to commemorate this very special anniversary. Queen Silvia, stunning in a yellow dress and wearing the Braganza Tiara, was at the king's side during the event. Both accompanied the guests to the banquet hall, closely followed by other royal personalities.

Among the most notable attendees were renowned figures such as King Harald, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, Queen Margaret, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and Queen Anne Mary of Greece. Everyone gathered to be part of this momentous celebration, demonstrating the strong ties and solidarity that prevail in the Nordic region.

The monarch, in an emotional speech, shared his feelings and reflections on the time he has spent serving his nation: "My feelings about the position are the same today as they were then: pride, gratitude and humility."

At the same time, Carlos Gustavo, who is 77 years old, was pleased to be the king of Sweden and to be so well surrounded on such a special night: "Being able to represent a country that is a stable democracy, a peaceful and supportive country, is a favor. And it is a great honor that the Heads of State of the other Nordic countries are here with us tonight. It marks our trust and community in each other."

The celebrations in honor of the king of Sweden do not end with dinner. It is scheduled that, on September 16, the Kings, accompanied by Victoria, Magdalena and Carlos Felipe of Sweden, will star in a parade through the main streets of the Swedish capital.

This horse-drawn carriage parade will take you from Hovslagargatan, across Skeppsholm Bridge and along Svensksundsvägen. Afterwards, they will board the royal sloop Vasaorden to cross the Stockholm Creek, thus culminating the celebrations.
