The Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week reveals the bridal trends for 2024

The motto of this year's Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week could not be more accurate: "Rise" (rise or take the leap), because the 2023 edition, which ends tomorrow, has made a qualitative leap in the number of firms, guests and buyers and in international presence. And on the catwalk (the media image of the bridal fair) the two firms that by far stand out above the rest are Rosa Clará (Thursday night) and Pronovias (Friday night). The two groups are the ones that bring together the most brands, the ones that reach the most countries and the ones that earn the most from there than their fashion shows, in addition to being pure spectacle and with luxury guests, they are the ones that arouse the most expectation because they both set the trends in bridal fashion.

Rosa Clara brought together an exceptional front row in her parade with Sharon Fonseca, model and partner of Italian businessman Gianluca Vacchi, Mexican actress Paulina Goto; swimmer Mireia Belmonte, athlete Raquel González, Sandra Garal, girlfriend of Real Madrid footballer Marcos Asensio, writer Boris Izaguirre, journalist Xavier Sardà and actor Carles Sans. In addition to influencers such as Emelie Lindmark, Cristina Urbi, Marta Sierra, Paula Galindo and Erica de Matteis.

There were also famous faces on the catwalk such as the Peruvian presenter Natalie Vértiz, Andrea Martínez, partner of the Chelsea goalkeeper and the Spanish team, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and the model Melanie Kroll, girlfriend of the singer Álvaro Soler.

"After years of austerity, brides want to shine more than ever," says Rosa Clará, who points out that when selling all over the world they have to adapt to different styles and cultures. “The collection for 2024 is loaded with satin slip dresses, very feminine reinvented classics, with new volumes and cut-outs. Sparkle with crystals and mesh-like lace”.

And Clará adds: “sensuality is no longer in the necklines but in showing the abdomen and shoulders”. After the fashion show, a dinner was served at the MNAC with 700 people, most of them clients, where Dani, Rosa's only son and who is taking over the reins of the business, announced his wedding to the American Anne-Maria Colling, on the 3rd of June in Paris.

Yesterday the finishing touch of the day was put by Pronovias. Alessandra Rinaudo, the firm's artistic director since 2019, presented the Atelier collection inspired by the four seasons: "I like to give a message and in these moments you have to get closer to nature," says Rinaudo. “Winter is represented by pure white and rhinestones of the same color. Spring with flowing silk dresses and flowers. Summer is an explosion of flowers and details. And autumn is more minimalist in a champagne white with leaf embroidery”.

The designer explains that she loves to walk among the dresses in the Pronovias museum to soak up the brand's identity “always sensual and feminine”. And she adds that after the pandemic, it is very common to marry with two dresses. for the ceremony and for the party.

The guest list for the parade has been spectacular: Amelia and Eliza Spencer, Lady Di's nieces, in Amelia's first public appearance after her wedding; Amy Jackson and Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl), Sassa de Osma, (Princess of Hannover), Andrea Duro, Macarena Gómez and Aldo Comas, Patricia Montero, Lucia Rivera, Miriam Giovanelli, Lidia Torrent, Elsa Anka, Godeliv Van den Brandt, Susana Griso, Mariló Montero, Lulu Figueroa, Carmen de Farala, Jedet, Coral Simanovich, José Lamuño, Dulceida, Caro Daur, renowned German fashion influencer; Mery Turiel, Madame de Rosa, Natalia Osona, Helena and Lucia Cuesta, Sofia Paramio, Natalia Cebrían, Aretha Fusté, Martina Jaúdenes, Silvia Zamora, Inés Arroyo, Natalia Garcia and Sergio Carvajal.

On the catwalk at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, of the 34 brands that have walked the runway, only three have been dedicated to men's fashion: Ramón Sanjurjo from Galicia, Carlo Pignatelli from Italy and Lucas Balboa from the Canary Islands, who has been in charge of closing the catwalk. . All of them bet on daring suits full of color or with transparencies, but following the pattern of elegance.
