Terelu Campos thanks the Captive for her maternity and the Virgen de la Salud for having overcome cancer

This has surely been one of the shortest Holy Weeks – work does not forgive – and also the most bittersweet for Terelu Campos, with her mind set on her mother, whose health is delicate. She doesn't tell us nor does she need to. We speak with her as he returns to Madrid from her native Malaga. “It is a question of faith but it also interests many people who are not believers; It is still a cultural spectacle”, the presenter qualifies.

Terelu grew up with the emotion of seeing the thrones go by each year, especially that of Jesus the Rich, whom his father took to see every Holy Wednesday as he was a costalero. She also feels linked to the Brotherhood of the Captive, called Señor de Málaga, which goes out in procession on Holy Monday.

His faith in the Captive is not just a matter of tradition. “Many years ago I made him a promise. I had gotten married, I didn't get pregnant and I asked him, promising that I would come to see him perform in procession every year. And that's how I've always done it." In the last 12 years, he has also focused on the Virgen de la Salud, who is in procession on Palm Sunday, and for well-founded reasons: “I started cancer treatment coinciding with Holy Week. I was staying at the Larios hotel in Malaga and two people from the brotherhood came to tell me that they had put a handkerchief on the Virgin's right chest. And they gave it to me with great affection.

Terelu is moved when remembering both episodes, so intimate and transcendent in her life. “When the Virgin is on her way back, off the official tour, I get under her cloak, with the men from the throne, and I take her for a while. Without her seeing me people. One of the sisters of the Virgen de la Salud sends me the daily prayer that the brotherhood does every night. And I pray it."
