'Save me' remembers Isabel Pantoja before her farewell with a graffiti in Cantora

This Friday, June 23, 2023, will be marked in the history of television in Spain. Starting at 4:45 p.m., Telecinco will put the definitive end point to one of its flagships: 'Save me'. After fourteen years on the air, the controversial evening show presented by Jorge Javier Vázquez will close its doors forever. In view of the approaching end, the program has wanted to send several farewells, some more correct than others.

During the Thursday afternoon broadcast, the collaborator José Antonio León appeared at the Cantora mansion, home of the singer Isabel Pantoja, in order to leave a memory of the show's history at her home. The Pantoja family has been the protagonist of hundreds of stories, positive and negative, in the story of 'Save me'; and during this final stage her daughter Isa has also received the odd stick from the team. However, the reporter's detail could be, to say the least, questionable.

“We are going to leave a mark on Cantora. We want to write a message on the emblematic wall so that Isabel Pantoja always keeps us in her memory. It has given us a lot of joy, it has given us a lot of suffering and it has also given us many moments for which we must thank Isabel Pantoja”, José Antonio León said into the microphone, at the same time that he painted a small graffiti with a permanent marker next to the sign of entrance to the mansion

The collaborator wrote “RIP Sálvame 09-23” as an obituary plaque, just below the ceramic tiles that spelled out the name of the farm, Cantora. It should be noted that this was not the only visible graffiti on the walls of the house. Next to the farewell sign you could see many other scribbles left over the years. Even so, León has not gotten rid of the occasional questionable comment on social networks, quite the opposite from his colleagues.

The presenters and collaborators on the set applauded the action and applauded their partner. "For her it must be really a joy that we are leaving", was the comment of Lydia Lozano, referring to the complicated history that the tonadillera has had with the program. Adela González also had words for the graffiti, believing that it would be one more attraction for fans who come to the farm: "Even now, people take photos with Cantora and Sálvame."

Beyond this detail, possibly the last of the magazine with the Pantoja family, the program is preparing for a farewell in style. The doubt about the presence of Jorge Javier Vázquez on the set remains in the air, while the appearance of collaborators from the past continues to be announced. In addition, the closure will take place after four long hours of broadcast with a large bonfire in San Juan, where the team will burn all the furniture and files of 'Save me'.
