Rosalía dazzles dressed as a black tulip at the Met Gala

As tradition marks, on the first Monday in May the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York hosts the Met Gala, organized by Anna Wintour. A highly anticipated event that has become one of the most spectacular red carpets of the year and in which celebrities experiment with fashion and dazzle with dream designs.

This 2024, the exhibition was titled Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion and the guests who paraded down the steps on Monday night had to follow the dress code The Garden of Time. . A theme that Rosalía did understand thanks to Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative director of Dior.

The artist was one of the most anticipated celebrities at this event, which was marked by the absences of Blake Lively and Rihanna. The Catalan appeared spectacular with an elegant two-piece set from the house that had a very special meaning as she herself explained to the model Ashley Graham, who was in charge of covering the red carpet for Vogue.

“When I heard the theme, I focused on the fact that it was about sleeping beauty. And I thought, what does this mean to me? I immediately thought of dreams. Before you fall asleep, you close your eyes and what do you see? You see black, you see darkness, so it was clear to me that it had to be a design in black (…) It is the prelude to a dream and for me Monsieur Dior reawakened fashion. Tonight I am celebrating Dior and that is why I am a black tulip,” explained the Malamente interpreter.

Rosalía made a difference at the event with a sophisticated satin top with a strapless neckline that was inspired by the New Look silhouette that Christian Dior launched in 1947. A piece that had three buttons, a thin belt and a small flare at the top. waist that gave way to a long tail.

The Catalan woman combined this top with a high-waisted pencil skirt that stylized her silhouette and extended to her ankles. She completed the outfit with black pointy-heeled pumps, a hairnet headdress by Stephen Jones, Dior milliner, and a stunning diamond choker with discreet earrings.

She also wore leather opera gloves that could be seen right outside the hotel where she was staying in New York. She arrived at the event with the gloves on but took them off before posing for the photographers covering the gala.
