Rodrigo, Daniel Sancho's uncle, talks about the pain suffered by the family after his arrest in Thailand

The Thai Justice has decreed provisional detention for Daniel Sancho for the alleged murder and dismemberment of the Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta Arteaga on the tourist island of Koh Phangan.

This has been decreed by the judge of the provincial court of the island of Koh Samui, to where the young detainee was escorted this morning, who will remain in the prison of the aforementioned island at least until the trial begins.

The young Spaniard acknowledged on Sunday in statements to the Efe agency that he was the author of the murder, but assured that he did it because he felt like his hostage. “I am guilty, but I was Edwin's hostage. It was a glass cage, but it was a cage. He made me destroy the relationship with my girlfriend, he has forced me to do things that he would never have done ”, he expressed in the interview.

How could it be otherwise, this case has raised a media storm in Spain, since the alleged murderer is the son of actor Rodolfo Sancho Aguirre, known for appearing in national series such as Hospital Central, La Señora, Isabel or El Ministerio del Tiempo.

In this sense, Rodrigo, Daniel Sancho's uncle, has acted as a spokesman for the family and has responded to journalists to ask for "respect" in these difficult times.

"It is very painful. You know more than we do. I only ask for a little respect. We are not going to tell you more ”, he pointed out before the microphones of the journalists who were waiting for him in front of his family home.
