Robert De Niro has not confronted pro-Palestinian protesters in New York, as has been reported

For the past few days, a video has been circulating on the Internet of acclaimed actor Robert De Niro shouting and allegedly confronting a group of protesters fighting for the rights of the Palestinian people. Presumably, these images corresponded to a crowd that had organized at the entrance to the recording set of De Niro's new series for Netflix, Zero Day, in which he stars alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.

In the viral video you can see how the artist nervously shouts in front of a group of people: ''This is not a movie. This is real! Stay tuned, offer your support, prayers, that's fine... but you have to do it behind the fences. If you're going to keep talking nonsense, then you have to go home!'' While it could fit into the narrative of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the truth is that it has nothing to do with it.

The video was quickly spread by different media outlets in favor of the Israeli discourse under the premise 'Robert de Niro supports Israel', something that has caused a great social stir.

However, as the streaming company confirmed to the AP agency, it is a rehearsal for a scene from the Netflix series that was filmed last Saturday, April 27. Although the issue has already been clarified, many media outlets have fallen for the hoax and have published that De Niro has taken a public position on the war.

In addition to the official confirmation from the audiovisual giant, actress Mozhan Marno, who also participates in production, has clarified the situation through the social network X (formerly Twitter) by responding to one of the journalists who had written the erroneous information.

''Robert De Niro gave a speech as his character in the upcoming Netflix series, Zero Day. I'm in it too and when I saw the clip, I recognized the speech. It's fiction. Verify before publishing,'' the artist stated.

Dozens of users have cried out when they found that the information that had been published about De Niro was false, since this is a very serious conflict in which thousands of people are dying.

At the moment, the actor known for Taxi Driver, The Irishman, Raging Bull or One of Ours has not officially taken a position with a statement, as many of his fans have requested on the Internet.
