More information about the strong fight between Daniel Sancho and Edwin Arrieta that ended with the death of the surgeon comes to light

Little by little we are learning more information about one of the most publicized cases of recent times, the murder of Edwin Arrieta. At the beginning of August, the news broke that Daniel Sancho had confessed to murdering and dismembering the body of the renowned Colombian surgeon on the Thai island of Ko Pha Ngan.

The Thai police revealed a few days ago that they were going to charge Rodolfo Sancho's son with premeditated murder, after having enough evidence to show that the Spanish chef acted alone and planned the crime. In addition, the recent results of the autopsy on the body of Edwin Arrieta reveal that the surgeon died after being slit by Daniel Sancho.

But this past Tuesday, a new twist in the case turned all the information we knew about it upside down. The number two of the Thai police, Surachate Hakparn, better known as Big Joke, revealed in an exclusive interview with On Everyone's lips that the alleged murderer was not in the Koh Samui jail as had always been believed. This new setback caused a stir in the case and Daniel Sancho's entourage immediately came out to deny that information.

In addition, this same Wednesday we have also been able to learn more about the fight between Sancho and Arrieta that ended the life of the surgeon. As Adrián Foncillas, correspondent in Thailand for Antena 3, revealed in Espejo Público, the fight would have been more tense and much longer, as he has learned from the Thai authorities.

''The police told us this morning that the fight between Arrieta and Sancho was fierce, longer than we thought up to now. There was an exchange of punches. Arrieta tried to defend himself by biting the arm of his assailant, and it left a very visible mark,'' he asserted. "They have not clarified whether there was a stab wound or not. That is the doubt after Big Joke denied it a week after affirming it,'' he declared.

''The autopsy is not going to tell us if there was a stab wound or not because the torso is one of the parts of the body that has not yet been found. The only thing we have is a shirt with a hole in it that they showed us at the press conference and that didn't have a single drop of blood on it,'' she said.
