Football arouses passions anywhere in the world, but it also generates moments of happiness that remain forever in the memory of its followers. In one of her last talks, the renowned psychiatrist Marian Rojas Estapé revealed the key to happiness. ''It's not what happens to me, but how I interpret what happens to me,'' she said.
Following this statement, the doctor revealed to those present an anecdote that had marked her life and was related to the world of football. ''I am an extremely sensitive person, I remember everything, I carry it in my heart and I don't forget it,'' she began by saying.
The professional, who has four children, considered herself a mother very involved in everything related to her children and a big soccer fan. ''I love football, I'm a member of Barça, in my house we follow it a lot because my children are all boys. I play with them for half an hour every day,' she said. After giving a talk at a conference, the renowned psychiatrist attended the Christmas gala at her children's school.
But before arriving at the school, Estapé received a very surprising call. ''Suddenly my secretary called me and told me that the soccer player Andrés Iniesta had just called me, that he couldn't find my book in the bookstores and that he wanted to talk to me,'' he said. ''Then he told me that he was going to send me an email,'' he explained.
The psychiatrist, very excited, could not believe the call. ''Those who are not soccer fans won't understand it as much, but I'm a big fan and I tell her, ''didn't she just say anything else to you? Then I get into the email and start updating it from the car,' she said. Minutes later, Marian Rojas Estapé arrived at her children's school, very nervous. But what she did not expect when she arrived was for the director to give her bad news: ''Yesterday there was a fight in the school yard and a boy broke his nose.''
However, the professional was so happy about what had just happened with the soccer player that she didn't care about the fight. ''I told him 'I don't care, I'm not interested in anything you're telling me.' And the director looked at me with her eyes... '', she claimed. In the middle of the performance, Estapé received the expected email. ''I was floating,'' he confessed. The next day he took his son to school and the principal asked him what was wrong and if he cared about her son's education. ''I told him ''you like football'' because otherwise you won't understand it. This is life (...) Happiness is the ability to connect in the best possible way with the present,' she explained.
