María Pombo and Laura Escanes enjoy Carlos Alcaraz

The Mutua Madrid Open is one of the most anticipated tennis tournaments each year on Spanish soil. Along with the Conde de Godó Trophy in Barcelona, it is one of the two relevant stops on the ATP circuit in the country, and the attention and encouragement are focused on the national tennis players. This year, the spotlight goes to the two most talked about: Rafa Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, both with pending accounts after two setbacks in Barcelona.

On this occasion, the Murcian tennis player has faced off against Jan-Lennard Struff, whom he already beat in last year's final. While Alcaraz exchanged blows with the German, several celebrities were seen in the stands of the Caja Mágica in Madrid. Among them, the influencers María Pombo and Laura Escanes have been spotted among the spectators, enjoying the show in the middle of the clay.

Pombo made an appearance accompanied by her husband, Pablo Castellanos, while the presenter of La travessa on 3Cat was accompanied by another influencer, Meri Loves. They were not the only celebrities present in the stadium, since in one of the photographs they share adjacent rows with Marc and Àlex Márquez, riders of the Ducati Gresini MotoGP team. Likewise, another influencer was present on the scene: Marc's partner, Gemma Pinto.

The parade of celebrities at the Mutua Madrid Open was already noticeable during the day on Monday, in the third round match that Rafa Nadal managed to win against the Argentine Pedro Cachín. David Broncano, Alejandro Sanz and Raúl González Blanco were spotted by journalists in the venue, witnessing firsthand the comeback of the Manacorí, who recovered after losing the second set to end up winning in the last one.

The presenter of La Resistencia is a well-known racket sport fan, a follower of Roger Federer and in charge of presenting a live program in this same venue, as a promotion before the first Davis Cup organized by Kosmos Group, Gerard Piqué's company. For his part, both the singer and the former captain of Real Madrid and Schalke 04 are regular spectators of Nadal when he competes on Spanish soil.

The veteran tennis player had the opportunity in previous months to speak with Vanity Fair magazine about different aspects of his life. One of them was the possibility of participating in the Paris Olympic Games, despite leaving the question open. “2024 could be my last year, I haven't decided 100%, but it looks good, I sense that there aren't many events left for me to play,” he commented.
