This week celebrates Gay Pride week and International LGBTIQ Pride Day, on June 28, where María del Monte has become a benchmark for this group, after last year she was in charge of giving the proclamation in the Pride of Seville.
The queen of sevillanas entered the set of Antena 3 doing her thing and with her great sense of humor. The singer, without warning, sat on the side of the sofa where the presenter usually sits, apologizing that that side was the right one. After this comical situation, María de Monte explained the origin of her rainbow shawl, which last year became a real phenomenon in networks.
After her appearance in Seville with the shawl, the singer began to see many people with her particular rainbow manila shawl. ''She has a very Andalusian stamp,'' she commented. The artist assured that she had never commented on anything about her private life because she had never been a preacher of pride.
"I had to be one and I think that out of good sense and consistency and almost out of necessity and not mine, I was very removed from the world of Pride and perhaps I didn't understand it," she confessed. ''Until I have become aware and I have understood that there are many people who have a bad time and that there is a lot to do and no one has to ask permission to love,'' she declared.
The singer said that she did not expect all the commotion that followed her confession. "I had my life and I thought nothing had happened, I realized the next day when I woke up and I had two thousand messages and six thousand calls, because I was not aware," she assured. ''If it has served a person, I am already happy,'' she declared.
María del Monte confessed that she was not afraid to say it. ''I don't care if they talk about my life as long as they do it with respect, the problem is when they want to denigrate your life,'' she declared. The queen of the Sevillanas commented that nothing that happened at the Pride was prepared. ''All the people knew the relationship after 23 years and many did not know how to classify her relationship and now they do,'' she explained.
After the confession nothing in his life has changed and they have not wanted to give exclusives either. "We have spent 24 wonderful years with things like everyone else, but much more normal than many types of relationships I know," he asserted. The presenter wanted to know if they had gone through a rough patch and she, María del Monte, confessed that she had not had any. ''We haven't had, we've known each other for a lifetime,'' she confessed.
