Lorenzo Caprile, blunt about fashion: "It is a very perverse world"

A new installment of Las tres puertas has landed on La 2 de TVE. On this occasion, the well-known Italian dressmaker and designer Lorenzo Caprile has opened up in his interview with María Casado. Surprisingly, the designer has assured that, if he could go back, he would not return to the world of fashion.

In 1986 Caprile began working for different Italian and Spanish fashion firms. However, it was not until 1993 when she decided to open her own workshop in the Barrio de Salamanca, in Madrid, and start selling with his own brand. She specialized in wedding dresses for brides (the first she made was for businesswoman Carla Royo-Villanova) and in ceremony attire.

Caprile, who was one of the prominent faces of the RTVE Masters of Sewing program, has assured that "fashion is a very tricky industry that also plays with very delicate human materials that are your humanity, your little complexes, your desire to appear or not to pretend" and has ruled that "it is a very perverse world."

Laughing, the Italian has assured that "if I could go back I would not be in this" and it is that we remember that Caprile has had many vocation crises. The designer has assured that his father gave him advice that he will always remember: "He gave me and my brother advice that may sound heteropatriarchal, he told us that in the rare professions we had chosen, we were either the first swords or life could be very sad and I think he is right”, he commented.

On the other hand, Caprile has assured that it is not to buy a lot of clothes and that he feels "love for the second hand": "I know the industry so well... I started as an intern, in Italy, which was the capital. He was 13 or 14 years old. After 40 years in the industry, I know her well and all her tricks and all her traps. For me to spend money on a brand new garment, it has to be something very special, ”he explained.

The designer has also confessed that, lately, he tries not to go to many weddings: "The last one I went to, I dressed the bride, the daughter of a schoolmate, I said 'I'll pass, I'll pass', and I went to the last drink, that they are all fart, and home ”, he commented with a laugh.
