Linda Evangelista confesses that she continues to apply Botox after living a traumatic experience with a beauty treatment

Linda Evangelista is one of the most recognizable supermodels in history. For years, the Canadian she led the main advertising campaigns of the moment, starred in the most sought-after covers and dominated the catwalks around the world.

With the passage of time, it began to occupy other spaces and ceased to be number one, something totally understandable considering that age is paramount in the world of fashion and beauty.

Although she has admitted on countless occasions that she is not afraid of aging, the reality is that she has done everything possible to stop the effects of time on her skin and body.

A few years ago, Linda Evangelista was the victim of a terrible treatment that left her face "unrecognizable" and "disfigured." In 2015, the Canadian model visited the Zeltiq clinics in New York to undergo a procedure called cryolipsis. Said operation is defined as a less invasive body contouring treatment than liposuction, so Evangelista did not hesitate and underwent it.

The intervention consisted of freezing the adipose tissue by applying extremely low temperatures for a specific time. When he performed this task on his face, everything went wrong, as he developed a condition called Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia (PAH). Because of this, the fat cells on Linda Evangelista's face not only did not decrease, but increased in size, forming large and painful lumps.

Since this happened to her, the supermodel has been speaking openly about the care and guarantees necessary to undergo the different treatments and interventions, since the physical and psychological consequences can be fatal.

However, she has not stopped doing touch-ups. In the documentary The Super Models, an Apple TV project that will be released on September 20, Evangelista talks about the hard life in modeling along with other great figures in the industry such as Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell or Christy Turlington. In this piece, the models speak openly and reflect on the eternal struggle of the mannequins to look beautiful, something that leads them to undergo all kinds of treatments.

As she recounted during the documentary's promotional tour, the supermodel has never been overly concerned about getting old: ''I don't care and I never cared about getting old. Aging gets us to where we want to be, and that's what living long is for me."

Although this is her philosophy of life, in an interview for the American edition of Vogue magazine, the one from Canada has acknowledged that she still resorts to botox to look young: "I want wrinkles, but I put botox on my forehead, so I'm a hypocrite, but I want to grow old.''
