Julio Iglesias, devastated by the death of Pepe Domingo Castaño: "You have left without a goodbye"

The world of journalism and sports is in mourning. This Sunday the tragic news came to light that Pepe Domingo Castaño, one of the most recognizable voices on sports radio, has died suddenly at the age of 80. This was announced by Tiempo de Juego, the program he worked on. The death of the announcer leaves an immense void in his listeners and colleagues, as well as in all those who knew him. There are many recognized faces who have wanted to show his sadness for this loss.

The announcer died this Sunday morning at the Zarzuela Hospital in Madrid, surrounded by all his loved ones. As it was later learned, a digestive infection was complicated by septicemia and the announcer could not overcome it. There are many well-known faces who have wanted to send messages of affection to the journalist and his family, among them, the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, or some athletes such as Fernando Alonso or Rafa Nadal, among many others.

The loss of Pepe has been a hard blow for many, especially those who knew him. Precisely, one of the recognized figures who appeared most devastated was the singer Julio Iglesias, who could not help but dedicate a few words to him through his social networks. "My dearest Pepe, you have left without a farewell that has left my soul in suspense. You know that I will never be able to forget you. My dearest friend, we will see each other again in eternity," expressed the interpreter of For the Love of a woman through X, formerly Twitter.

However, the artist wanted to expand on his words and shared another publication through the stories of his Instagram profile. "My dearest Pepe, you have left without a farewell, which has become eternal in these moments. My soul is in suspense, because I had adoration for you, you have been an irreplaceable friend and I have not even had time to tell you everything you have represented for me in my artistic and personal life. You know that I will never forget you," he said. "I have no strength left for anything. This farewell is not a goodbye forever, we will see each other again," he said.

There are many expressions of affection for the announcer and his family from the world of journalism, sports and even other spheres. Castaño's colleagues in Playtime on the Cope network have expressed their deep regret over his departure. His words have also been some of the most emotional. Manolo Lama, Castaño's lifelong companion and friend, has paid tribute to him, describing him as "a radio genius" and "the master of communication." On the other hand, Josep Pedrerol has assured that he will greatly miss "your voice, your joy, your optimism, your hello, hello every weekend afternoon." Without a doubt, Pepe's departure leaves a great void.
