Dazzling and causing a sensation on social networks: Jennie Kim, singer of the popular South Korean band Blackpink, has become the most searched attendee of the Met Gala 2024 on the Internet.

The singer is the only K-pop artist who has been personally invited by Anna Wintour, organizer of the event, and this is the second time she has attended alone and without her groupmates, also regulars at other fashion events.

The k-pop artist came with a personalized Alaïa design designed by Pieter Mulier that did not leave anyone indifferent, as it made a very free interpretation of the dress code -inspired by The Secret Garden, JG Ballard's 1962 story- and , as expected, left his more than 84 million followers on social networks sharing and commenting on his appearance at the event.

The Blackpink member made a dazzling entrance on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, clad in a fluid minidress in an intense cobalt blue color. A custom-made piece, with a draped cut with an asymmetrical abdomen and detail on one of the sleeves that extended to form a train that reached the floor.

A dress that fit the singer's spectacular body like a second skin, and that gave a sophisticated touch by adding bracelet shoes in the same tone, a gold chain to accentuate her waist and some hoop earrings with pearls. It must be said that the theme of the gala allows its attendees to reinterpret the connection between time and natural beauty, so you can reach whatever conclusion you want.

This is the second appearance of the South Korean singer at the gala, who debuted last year in a spectacular vintage Chanel minidress from 1990.

The singer has chosen the Alaïa and Pieter Mulier house for this occasion, but it is not the only brand for which the SOLO singer is the image. The 28-year-old South Korean girl is dedicated to music, but she is also very involved in the world of fashion, with substantial contracts with Chanel, Calvin Klein, Jacquemus and Adidas, among other brands.

That she has been one of the most searched guests on social media is no coincidence, as Jennie is one of the most famous personalities on the Internet. In 2021, she became the first South Korean to gain 50 million followers on Instagram.

As of December 2023, she was still the most followed Korean person and the second most followed K-pop idol behind her Blackpink partner Lisa (who has a whopping 103 million followers on Instagram alone), with over 84, 6 million followers on the platform.
